How To Show Author Profile Picture In Google Search Result

Google has introduced a new feature to show author profile picture in google search result. If you are having a blog or website then you can also show your profile picture in google search result as you can see in the abow image my profile picture and name is displayed in google search result. Your name works as a link to your google+ profile. Before the profile picture is visible for specific users but now google+ makes it easy for all users to display their profile picture in google search and now you can show your profile picture next to your each articles or post. Whenever the users search for anything on google it shows results, some of the results having author pictures and some results not, there is the bigger chances to attract people to the result having author pictures so it is best for you to show profile picture in google search result it will also increase your CTR(click-through rate).

Steps to implement Authorship 

This is really a easy process to implement authorship, you just need few things to implement it. You should have a google+ profile, if you dont have a google+ profile then first create it. Now we can start implementation.

Step1. You should have an About Me page on your blog, if you dont have a page then you have to create it and it should be on same domain. Now you have to link your About Me page to your google+ profile.

When you are creating a hyperlink to your google+ profile page don�t forget to add rel=�me� to that link as shown below.

At the place of your_ID you have to put your google+ id, when you open your google+ account you can see you google+ id in your address bar as shown below in the link. This red color series of numbers is my google+ id similarly you can copy it from your account and put it at the place of your_id

After replacing the your_id to google+ id the link will look like the below link

Step2. Now all your blog posts must have a link to your About Me page. This link should have rel=�author� as shown below in given link.

Step3. This is the last step, now you have to login to your google+ account and you have to add a link to your contributor section which link to your About Me page. This link should be save as a public.


Now if you have done all three steps in a right way you will be verified. There is a rich snippet tool to check that you have done all things in a right way. Just open this link and put your web or blog URL in the preview box and press enter. If you have done all things well it will show you as a verified author as shown below in the given image.

Now you have to wait for few days, google will crawl all your pages and show your profile picture in google search result.


Resolve Errors:-

If you are not getting this verified link that means you have done something wrong. You have to check few things.

1. Make sure that you your About page have your picture and it should be same like google+ profile picture. The size of the pictures should be the same and it. The important thing is that your about page should be on the same domain.

2. Your contributor section must be public otherwise it will show error.
